The Bell-Union Coal and Coke Company was incorporated in New Jersey in 1904. The company’s operations were in the community of Curlew in Union County, and were in existence from 1906 to 1909.

Three years later, the company resurfaced as the Bell-Union Coal and Mining Company, which operated until 1934.
